**Status: Kruti is discontinued.** This page once described Kruti in the present tense as a live product, and later as temporarily offline. Both framings are now out of date — the evidence points to a permanent withdrawal, not an outage. Checks re-run on 2 September 2026: 1. **The website is a holding page.** kruti.ai 301-redirects to olakrutrim.com/kruti, which serves a 17 KB page whose entire body reads "We'll be back soon — Kruti AI is currently under maintenance." There is no product behind it. That message has been up since at least mid-April 2026. 2. **Both app listings are gone.** The Android package `com.app.krutrim.prod` returns Google Play's not-found response, and Apple App Store id 6499513928 returns HTTP 404 — Apple's own iTunes lookup API returns zero results for it, while a control app returns one. So the listings are removed, not merely hidden. 3. **The withdrawal was reported as deliberate.** TechCrunch (5 May 2026) wrote that Krutrim "pulled its Kruti AI assistant app from app stores in April" as part of a shift to AI cloud services, alongside paused chip-design work and more than 200 roles cut. Inc42 (16 April 2026) reported the app was "no longer accessible on the Apple App Store or Google Play" and had also been removed from inside the Ola app. Ola and Krutrim have not published a shutdown notice, so no closure date is officially confirmed. What is confirmed is that the app has been unavailable for roughly four and a half months and the company has publicly redirected its resources elsewhere. Kruti launched in June 2025, was built on the Krutrim V2 LLM, supported 13 Indian languages by voice and text, and passed 100,000+ Google Play downloads. Ola Krutrim itself continues to operate as an AI cloud business — it is the consumer assistant specifically that is gone.

No. As of 21 August 2026 the app is not available on the Google Play Store — its package id returns a not-found response, the same response a non-existent app returns — and it has also been pulled from Apple's App Store. The entry is kept here as a record of what the product was, not as a recommendation to install it. There is currently no way to get the consumer Kruti app through official channels.
Krutrim went through two rounds of layoffs totalling roughly 200 roles, disbanded the linguistics team that had trained its Indian-language models, and paused the planned Krutrim 3 LLM launch. This was reported in April 2026 by MediaNama, Entrackr, Storyboard18, Inc42 and YourStory. Ola and Krutrim have not issued a formal statement explaining the shutdown or committed to a return date, so the app's status should be read as indefinite rather than temporary.
Unknown, and nothing published by the company commits to it. The kruti.ai domain has shown a maintenance message rather than a shutdown notice, which leaves the door open, but a maintenance page that has stood for months alongside layoffs and a cancelled model launch is not evidence of an imminent return. Treat any claim of a specific relaunch date with scepticism unless it comes from Ola or Krutrim directly.
There is no like-for-like replacement offering Kruti's combination of thirteen Indian languages plus agentic actions such as booking cabs and ordering food. For Indian-language conversational AI, Sarvam AI and BharatGPT are the closest home-grown efforts, while Bhashini covers government-backed translation and speech. For general assistant work most Indian users fall back to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude. Check what is currently live before committing — this category has moved fast and shut down fast.
That was Krutrim's own marketing claim at the June 2025 launch, and it is a positioning statement rather than a verifiable fact — 'agentic' has no agreed definition and several Indian assistants offered task automation earlier. What is fair to say is that Kruti was among the first Indian consumer AI apps to combine a home-grown LLM with real-world actions such as cab booking and bill payment across multiple Indian languages. Its shutdown says more about the economics of consumer AI in India than about the technology.
