Krutrim is the AI division of Bengaluru-based Ola, founded by Bhavish Aggarwal. It launched in 2024 as Krutrim AI Studio, a no-code and low-code platform for building and deploying AI models, with a catalogue of multilingual LLMs covering 22+ Indian languages, GPU-as-a-service, developer notebooks and model APIs. It was positioned as India’s sovereign answer to AWS SageMaker and Google Vertex AI. That is no longer an accurate description of the product. In late 2025 Krutrim halted both its custom AI chip programme (Bodhi, Sarv and Ojas) and its foundation-model development, and refocused on cloud infrastructure for enterprise customers. Less so than it was. SageMaker and Vertex AI are full model-development platforms with notebooks, model catalogues and MLOps tooling; Krutrim’s current public offering reads as infrastructure-as-a-service — compute, storage and Kubernetes. As a cheaper, India-resident place to rent GPUs it is a reasonable substitute. As a replacement for a managed ML platform, it no longer clearly is.
