by Daakia Private Limited
Daakia is run by Daakia Private Limited, incorporated on 19 August 2020 (CIN U72900WB2020PTC239021, Registrar of Companies, Kolkata) and currently Active on the MCA register. Its registered office is B 18/8, Karunamoyee Housing Estate, Sector II, Salt Lake City, Kolkata, West Bengal 700091 — the same address Google Play shows in the app's "About the developer" panel, alongside contact@daakia.co.in and an Indian phone number. Two directors are on record, Bhawana Mitra (DIN 08839570, appointed at incorporation) and Animesh Kumar (DIN 09498089, appointed February 2022); a third, Ankit Kumar, ceased in September 2022. Confusingly, the company's own Contact page lists its HQ as Diwakar Bhavan, Residency Road, Bengaluru 560025, while its LinkedIn page still says Kolkata and puts headcount at 2-10 — so it is a small team, and the two published addresses do not agree. A warning worth reading before you search for it: an unrelated courier-franchise business also trades as "Daakia" at daakia.com. This entry is about daakia.co.in, the communication platform, and nothing on this page refers to the courier company. The product is a video conferencing platform first, with messaging alongside. Its distinguishing feature is language: an AI translation engine provides real-time captioning and message translation, so a participant can type or speak in one language and the other side reads it in theirs — a differentiator none of Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams offers as a first-class, built-in feature at this price. Beyond that it is a conventional feature set: screen sharing, whiteboard, breakout rooms, raise hand, in-call chat and emojis, background filters, noise and echo cancellation, recording, and webinar and live-streaming support on the higher tiers. Clients exist for Android, iOS, web and desktop, and the company also publishes SDK/integration paths for Flutter, React Native, PHP, Angular and React. Pricing is published on daakia.co.in/pricing: Bronze is free (100 participants, 45 minutes), Silver Rs 799 a month, Gold Rs 1,150 and Platinum Rs 1,699, with 15% off annual billing and quote-only enterprise plans. On Google Play the main app, "Daakia: Meetings & Webinar" (package com.app.daakia), has 100,000+ installs and a 4.5 rating from 483 ratings, with a build last updated 3 July 2026. The iOS side is much newer and much thinner: a separate listing, also called "Daakia: Meetings & Webinar" (com.app.daakiavc), has only 3 ratings, and a companion chat app, "Konnect: Chat & Collaborate" (com.daakia.chat), has 1. Review volume is the real weakness here — of roughly 150 Play reviews retrievable, only seven are three stars or below, and the most recent of those dates to July 2024, so there is very little recent critical feedback to weigh.

Yes. Daakia Private Limited was incorporated on 19 August 2020 under CIN U72900WB2020PTC239021 at the Registrar of Companies, Kolkata, and is Active on the MCA register. Its registered office is B 18/8, Karunamoyee Housing Estate, Sector II, Salt Lake City, Kolkata, West Bengal 700091 — the identical address Google Play publishes in the app's developer panel. Its two current directors, Bhawana Mitra and Animesh Kumar, are both Indian, and its contact page lists Indian phone numbers and a Bengaluru office. Note that a completely unrelated courier-franchise business also uses the name Daakia at daakia.com; that is a different company.
As published on daakia.co.in/pricing: Bronze is free and allows 100 participants for 45 minutes with screen sharing, noise cancellation and end-to-end encryption. Silver is Rs 799 a month for 150 participants, 12-hour meetings, 5 GB storage, whiteboard, webinar support and meeting recording. Gold is Rs 1,150 a month for 200 participants, 24-hour meetings, 10 GB storage and voice transcription. Platinum is Rs 1,699 a month for 300 participants, 15 GB storage, live streaming and international calling. Annual billing is advertised at 15% off, and enterprise plans are quote-only.
The one thing Daakia does that the incumbents do not is language. Its AI translation engine provides real-time captioning and translated chat as a built-in, standard feature, so participants can each work in their own language — useful for multilingual Indian teams, classrooms and customer calls. On free-tier limits it is roughly comparable to Zoom: 100 participants for 45 minutes. Where it loses is maturity and evidence. Zoom and Meet have published security audits, status pages and compliance certifications; Daakia asserts end-to-end encryption and a 99.9% uptime guarantee without publishing a datacenter location, an SLA or an audit to back either. It is also a 2-10 person team, which matters if you are buying for an organisation.
Daakia states on both its website and its Play Store listing that chats, media, recordings and personal information are protected by end-to-end encryption with a private key known only to the user. That is the company's own claim. What it does not publish is where the data physically sits — there is no named datacenter, no stated hosting region, no security audit and no third-party certification such as a MeitY empanelment or STQC certificate anywhere on the public site. If data residency in India is a hard requirement for your organisation, ask them directly and get it in writing rather than relying on the marketing copy.
The Android app (com.app.daakia) has 4.5 out of 5 from 483 ratings with 100,000+ installs, and was last updated 3 July 2026. Read that figure with care: of roughly 150 reviews retrievable from the listing, only seven are three stars or lower and the most recent of those dates to July 2024, so there is very little recent critical feedback in the pool. The iOS side is newer and far smaller — the current App Store listing has 3 ratings and the companion Konnect chat app has 1.
