Troop Messenger - Team Collaboration and Instant Messaging App
Troop Messenger is a secure office communication platform built by Tvisha Systems Pvt Ltd, headquartered in Hyderabad, India. Launched as an alternative to Slack and Microsoft Teams, it offers instant messaging, group chats, HD video and audio calls, screen sharing, file sharing, and work scheduling — all in a single workspace available on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. What sets Troop Messenger apart are its unique collaboration features not found in most competitors: Burnout (auto-deleting confidential messages), Forkout (sending a message to multiple users simultaneously without creating a group), Respond Later (flagging messages for follow-up), and real-time location tracking for field teams. It also includes a Jointly Code editor for pair programming sessions and supports on-premise deployment for organisations with strict data security requirements. Pricing starts at $2.50 per user per month for the Premium plan, with Enterprise and Superior plans offering additional features like on-premise hosting, custom integrations, and dedicated support. There's a free trial available but no permanent free tier — unlike Slack's limited free plan. For Indian SMBs, the per-user cost is significantly lower than Slack ($7.25/user/month) or Teams ($4/user/month). Troop Messenger is best suited for small to mid-sized teams (under 50 people) that need secure, no-frills communication with on-premise options. Its video conferencing is limited to 6 participants and audio calls to 10, so larger teams running frequent all-hands meetings may find it restrictive. The third-party integration ecosystem is also thin compared to Slack's 2,400+ apps.
