Reliable SMTP Relay & Transactional Email Sending API | Zoho ZeptoMail
ZeptoMail is a transactional email service from Zoho Corporation, launched in 2021 and built specifically for sending app-generated emails — OTPs, password resets, order confirmations, invoices, welcome emails, and shipment alerts — rather than marketing campaigns. Zoho deliberately segregated transactional traffic onto separate IP pools and infrastructure, so a marketing blast on another product cannot poison the deliverability reputation that transactional senders depend on. Integration is intentionally minimal: either drop ZeptoMail's SMTP credentials into your existing app (no code changes), or call the REST email-sending API for finer control and batch sending. The platform's signature feature is Mail Agents — separate sending streams with isolated credentials, reputation, and analytics for different email types (e.g., one Agent for OTPs, another for receipts), letting teams isolate failures and tune deliverability per use case. Pre-built templates, suppression lists, real-time open/click/bounce tracking, webhook events, dedicated IPs (annual add-on), and plug-ins for WordPress, Zapier, Zoho CRM, and Zoho Flow round out the offering. Pricing is pure pay-as-you-go: $2.50 per credit (10,000 emails), available in USD, INR, EUR, and GBP. The first credit is complimentary — 10,000 free transactional emails to validate setup — and unused credits stay valid for 6 months. There are no monthly subscriptions, seat fees, or contact-list charges. At roughly Rs 208 per 10,000 emails, ZeptoMail comes in around 60–75% cheaper than SendGrid Essentials and Postmark on equivalent volume, and unlike Amazon SES, you do not have to manage your own deliverability, warm-up, or reputation engineering. Best fit for Indian SaaS startups, fintech, and e-commerce teams that already send transactional email at scale (50K–10M/month range) and want INR billing, low per-message cost, and a sender reputation managed by Zoho. Marketing teams running bulk newsletters and drip campaigns should look at Zoho Campaigns or Mailchimp instead — ZeptoMail will not accept that traffic.
